Welcome to Root & Rune Waxing. By booking an appointment, purchasing products, or using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions.
1. Booking & Studio Access
Appointment-Only: Root & Rune operates strictly on an appointment-only basis to ensure complete client privacy. Walk-ins are not accepted.
Location & Arrival: The studio is situated in a rural location near Crick. Specific what3words navigation details for parking and entry gates are provided upon booking. Please arrive at your scheduled time; early entry may not be possible if another private session is underway.
2. Consultation, Age & Medical Disclosures
Digital Consultation: All new and returning clients must complete a digital consultation form prior to treatment to ensure safe practice.
Health Conditions & Medications: Clients must inform the studio of any medical conditions, allergies, skin sensitivities, or use of medications that affect skin integrity (such as topical retinoids, Accutane, or blood thinners). Root & Rune reserves the right to refuse or adapt treatment if contraindications are present.
Age Requirements: Clients must be at least 18 years of age for all intimate waxing treatments. General body and facial waxing services are available to clients aged 16 and over. Proof of age may be requested upon arrival.
3. Cancellations, Rescheduling & Lateness
48-Hour Notice: Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be submitted at least 48 hours (2 full days) before the scheduled appointment time to be eligible for a refund or deposit transfer.
Late Cancellations & No-Shows: Appointments cancelled, rescheduled within 48 hours, or missed without notice are non-refundable, as this reserved time cannot be reallocated.
Late Arrivals: If you arrive late, your appointment may be shortened to avoid impacting subsequent clients, or cancelled without refund if insufficient time remains to perform the treatment safely.
4. Treatment Standards & Hair Growth
Hair Length: For optimal results, hair must be a minimum of 0.5 cm (approximately the length of a grain of rice or 2–3 weeks of post-shave growth). Treatments cannot proceed effectively on hair that is too short.
Hygiene & Preparation: Please arrive clean and free from heavy body oils, lotions, or self-tanning products on the areas to be treated.
5. Right to Refuse Service & Code of Conduct
Professional Sanctuary: Root & Rune is a professional, body-positive, and ungendered space. Inappropriate, aggressive, or sexually suggestive behaviour of any kind will result in the immediate termination of the appointment with full charge and potential reporting to relevant authorities.
Safety & Refusal: We reserve the right to decline service if skin integrity is compromised (e.g., severe sunburn, open wounds, active skin infections) or if contraindications pose a health risk.
6. Retail & Products
Hygiene Standards: All retail products and handcrafted botanical goods purchased in the studio are non-refundable once opened or used, due to hygiene standards, unless deemed faulty upon inspection.
7. Liability & Privacy
Client Aftercare: Root & Rune provides clear verbal and digital aftercare guidance. The studio is not liable for adverse skin reactions, irritation, infections, or ingrown hairs resulting from non-compliance with recommended aftercare protocols.
Data Protection: Personal details and consultation records are stored securely and handled with strict confidentiality in accordance with standard UK data privacy regulations.
